Academy for Gender Justice

The Academy for Gender Justice is OBI’s flagship capacity-building programme, designed to strengthen gender-responsive justice systems and improve institutional responses to gender-based violence. The Academy brings together police officers, prosecutors, judges, journalists, and civil society professionals to develop practical skills in survivor-centred approaches, rights-based case handling, and the prevention of secondary victimisation.
Delivered in cooperation with national and international partners, the programme combines legal standards, trauma-informed practice, and context-specific institutional learning. Its training model is tailored by professional group and country context, allowing adaptation across different justice and governance environments.

The Academy is intended not only as a training platform, but as a longer-term institutional reform tool that contributes to stronger accountability, better coordination among actors, and more effective protection systems for women and girls. The Academy for Gender Justice is OBI’s flagship capacity-building programme, designed to strengthen gender-responsive justice systems and improve institutional responses to gender-based violence.
