The Academy for Gender Justice is OBI’s flagship training programme, strengthening the capacity of justice and governance professionals to respond effectively to gender-based violence and domestic violence. Through survivor-centred, rights-based, and trauma-informed approaches, the Academy equips police officers, prosecutors, judges, journalists, and civil society actors with practical tools to improve protection, accountability, and access to justice for women and girls.
Designed as a user-friendly mobile application, INFORMA helps residents access legal information, public service directories, and municipal budget information, while also providing channels to raise community concerns and report issues affecting rights, accountability, and local governance. The platform includes options for reporting gender-based violence, corruption, and other matters requiring referral or institutional attention. As part of OBI’s broader work on digital governance, INFORMA is intended to improve access, strengthen institutional responsiveness, and ensure that residents have practical tools to seek information, raise concerns, and engage with local public systems.
OBI provides direct humanitarian and protection support to women and girls affected by violence, displacement, and crisis. Our response prioritises safety, dignity, and timely access to assistance, with particular attention to survivors of gender-based violence, single mothers, and women-led households facing acute vulnerability.
The organisation’s humanitarian work combines immediate support with case-based follow-up and referral pathways. Assistance may include psychosocial and legal support, emergency relief, medical referrals, and coordination with trusted local service providers.
OBI supports women and girls through an integrated approach that combines protection, empowerment, and leadership development. The organisation facilitates access to legal, psychosocial, and referral services for survivors of gender-based violence while creating pathways toward greater economic independence, civic participation, and resilience.
Through targeted economic empowerment and capacity-building initiatives, OBI equips women with practical skills, professional competencies, and opportunities that support sustainable livelihoods and long-term participation in economic and public life. These efforts are complemented by mentorship, community outreach, and initiatives that promote girls’ participation, rights awareness, and inclusive leadership.
OBI’s approach to inclusive economic development focuses on strengthening the conditions under which women, survivors of violence, and other vulnerable groups can move from crisis or exclusion toward greater economic security, participation, and resilience.
Through economic empowerment, mentoring, and reintegration initiatives, OBI supports individuals in building the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed for long-term self-reliance. This approach contributes not only to individual recovery, but also to stronger communities, more inclusive local development, and greater social stability.
OBI promotes approaches to border governance that strengthen security, transparency, and cross-border cooperation while supporting inclusive economic development. The organisation views well-governed borders as important enablers of public trust, regulatory accountability, and lawful economic participation.
Through policy dialogue, institutional cooperation, and research, OBI contributes to frameworks that align secure border management with responsible trade, rights-based governance, and sustainable regional development.
