OUR VISION – “Open Borders” Institute of Peace, Democracy and Development is a national NGO based in Armenia strengthening sustainable youth-driven peacebuilding in the region, advocating for gender equality and democracy, designing and developing projects for sustainable development. We connect more than 20 Armenian local youth NGOs, cooperate with the organizations from Eastern Partnership countries, Black Sea region, EU member states and Middle East countries.
Our goal is to create a world where young people have the opportunity and skills to contribute to peace and security, participate in decision making processes and make equal world. We work to strengthen fem and youth-led initiatives, advocate for women rights, facilitate a safe space for dialogue and conflict transformation, develop the capacities of our youth stakeholders and bring the voices of young people to policy makers on a regional level.
We support young women, teachers, young entrepreneurs and member local NGOs to build their capacities. This will further enable them to become more effective in mobilizing youth to become constructive, pro-active and non-violent agents of change addressing root causes and the impact in their communities, local government and organizations.
We advocate for increased women and youth participation in peace, security, peacebuilding, in the shape of the UN SC Resolution 1325, 1540 and 2250.
